Explore Hajin, pursue an objective and get out with what you can carry.
Start & access
DMZ is the extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. You enter a shared combat zone, pursue an objective and decide when to get out with the equipment and resources you have recovered.

Official launch announcementHajin & extraction
Hajin is the setting for DMZ: a region shaped by radiation, evacuation and damaged infrastructure. The official overview names areas including Hajin City, the Prison complex, the Military Base and the Fallout reactor.
A successful extraction carries recovered gear and resources into future deployments. Pushing farther can offer more to recover, but failing to extract can cost you what you have found.
Official Hajin & extraction overviewMissions & threats
Story Missions extend the Modern Warfare 4 narrative. Dynamic Operations are described as multi-step objectives, while Side Ops offer another way to structure a deployment. You can also pursue high-value targets or explore Hajin for equipment and resources.
Official operations overviewOperators & progression
The FOB’s Active Duty menu holds a roster of Operators with persistent backpacks, loadouts and progression. Trait Points earned during missions can be invested across three Trait Trees, with specializations covering combat, infiltration, looting, recovery and resource gathering.
Official Traits & progression overviewLoot & the FOB
The Forward Operating Base is your preparation hub between deployments. Its announced services include a 3D Printer crafting station, the Stash for inventory storage, weapon purchasing, a firing range and bounty boards. Completing Missions and earning XP unlocks more functionality at the base.
Official FOB overviewCombat & squads
You can enter DMZ solo or with a squad. The mode is PvPvE: hostile forces and rival Operators occupy the same conflict zone. Solo support does not mean an offline or separate PvE-only mode.
The official overview describes fighting, avoiding encounters, negotiating and pursuing rival Operators as possible choices. Bounties can raise the stakes of those player hunts by increasing your notoriety.
